Same suit, different shirt — entirely different plans.

We’ve been thinking about how much a shirt changes the vibe. One swap and suddenly you're dressed for a wedding, a dinner, or just looking like you have your life together on a Tuesday.

Here’s where we’d wear each one (and what we’d pair it with.)

The Shirt Makes the Plan

The easiest way to change the tone of a suit or sport coat? Start with the shirt. A little color feels more relaxed. A pattern adds personality. A classic keeps things polished. It’s less about rules, more about knowing what works where.

Here’s how we’re thinking about it right now.

Four Shirts, Four Different Plans

The Lilac Oxford Shirt

For weddings, spring events, or anywhere you want to stand out (in a good way). Soft color, sharp tailoring. Pair it with navy or charcoal for something classic, or lighten things up with a tan suit.

The Striped Dress Shirt

Unexpected, but easy. Perfect for dinners, date nights, or events that call for something a little more interesting. We especially like it with the brown puppy tooth blazer—rich, textured, and quietly confident.

The Blue Dress Shirt

Interviews, office days, last-minute plans. The one that always works. Pair it with navy for classic, or wear it under a sport coat when you want to keep things polished but relaxed.

The Gingham Shirt

Casual Fridays, outdoor weddings, weekend plans. It relaxes a suit just enough. Pair it with a sport coat or lighter tailoring for an easy, pulled-together look.
